Chicago Tribune Review of Neurofeedback in Chicago:

The Chicago Tribune in a September 26, 2012 article titled, “Advocates say EEG therapy can guide mental energy” wrote about people in the Chicago area who sought out and experienced evidence-based neurofeedback. The Tribune focused their EEG therapy article (also known as EEG biofeedback or neurofeedback therapy) on clients who had sessions on one neurofeedback system in particular, BrainPaint, because this system is evidence-based and yields consistent results. The article goes on to discuss the experience of three individuals in the Chicago metropolitan area:

  • John O’Ryan, 63, a retired Chicago police officer who sought out BrainPaint to help his post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Andrew Ingley, 39, a manager of a chiropractor’s office who sought out neurofeedback in Chicago to improve his focus and attention
  • Liz Hall, a hypnotherapist and health coach who tried BrainPant seeking relief from work-related stress and to improve her personal relationships

All three individuals reported improvements in the quality of their life that they attributed to the BrainPaint neurofeedback. John O’Ryan reported that the neurofeedback improved his sleep and calmed him down, he says, “I found it helped me to clear my brain and make more positive choices. Now when I am stuck in traffic, I don’t fee the need to get all upset.” Andrew Ingley reports that, “I am able to crowd out thoughts trying to distract me. [Now] when I start feeling distracted, I can easily get refocused and can make quicker decisions.” Liz Hall feels more aware of her thoughts and emotions, therefore, she is not so reactive in work and personal relationships. She can not attribute this new calm to anything else but the neurofeedback. Full Chicago Tribune Article

Radio WGN Interview About Neurofeedback Chicago:

Erin Carman of Radio WGN did a wonderful interview with neurofeedback Chicago providers: Seth Franz and Stephanie Saia of Urban Brain and Body and Pamela Hoggatt of Elliot Counseling Services about neurofeedback. It was a very refreshing, down-to-earth, entertaining interview about Erin’s experience during a neurofeedback session and what issues it improves specifically concussions, PTSD, nightmares, anxiety, strokes, and peak performance. It is a great way to get to know Seth, Stephanie or Pamela before booking an appointment in Chicago, Peoria or Normal.
